The importance of good deeds and of being true to yourself? That even the smallest beings can make an impact on their surroundings? It could have been any of these - or something else, for all viewers knew.Īdding to the film’s flaws, Mumble’s parents (played by Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman) have completely disappeared. And come the end of the film, it’s impossible to tell what the lesson was. Not once during the film is it made clear whether the main protagonist is Mumble, his son, Gloria or any other penguin in the film. Instead, it’s too busy juggling a bizarre, overcomplicated plot to even pick a main character or two. The fact that the first film followed a limited set of characters over the course of several years led to a fairly decent, emotional story told convincingly, albeit slowly. Though it was slow, the original “Happy Feet” characters felt developed and relatable, thanks in part to some very convincing voice acting. The few lines of dialogue that aren’t sung are forced, fast and painful to listen to. This is pretty much a long, never-ending music video with mash-up after mash-up of bad dance moves and songs with the lyrics edited to make penguin jokes. This problem doesn’t just affect the plot - the music and visuals are overdone, as well. MUMBLE PENGUIN MOVIEThe first movie was accused of the opposite problem - being too slow - but it seems that this film has overcorrected. One of this film’s biggest flaws is its fast pacing and attempts to squeeze too much into a two-hour running time. It shows that different can be unique and doesn’t always mean bad and that you get picked on.There are bad sequels, there are pointless sequels and there are agitating sequels. It was really sad at times but enjoyable too! I really liked this movie. I won’t tell you anymore of this story but there’s the beginning. He banished Mumble to be a wild penguin of his own kind. The elder penguin is the ruler of the colony, but not a very kind ruler. Gloria, had the most beautiful soft voice and became famous out of the colony of emperor penguins which Mumble had a crush on. Mumble was excluded from graduation parties because he couldn’t sing. During surviving the storm, Memphis drops the egg on accident which makes Mumble different to the others not able to sing like the other penguins to find true love but can dance which other penguins said was not a real penguin. It all starts off with Memphis (Father) trying to survive his best to keep the egg safe through the snow storm while Norma (Mother) goes away for six months to catch fish for the new baby. This film shows the risk of pollution and what it can lead to during the future, followed with fishing too much in the sea which leads to penguins not eating enough and soon dying of starvation as there are no more fish to feed on.
